So friday night(may 3rd) a very heartless and unexpect crime occured. My friend & coworker Chelcie’s husband Brad was attacked for helping and defending others! He was enjoying a fire with friends after working all day at Okanagan Beach fire pits in Penticton, B.C. Some younger guys were being harassed by 2 male adults and one of the male adults grabbed a teens hat. A female was also being harassed by the two adult males. So Brad, being the caring person he is stepped in to try to stop this and defend the younger guys. He was then jumped and attacked by the two male adults that were harassing the teens and was left severely injured. He was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital where he underwent Brain surgery to try to reduce swelling and bleeding of the brain on Saturday, May 4th, 2019. He is now in a medically induced coma to try to help him heal! These first few days are crucial and I know Chelcie is by her husbands side and not working at our job at Penticton General Hospital as if I were her I would be doing the same! That being said bills like rent still need to be paid and she still needs to eat and sleep! With both of them not working and Brad possibly being on a very long road to recovery they will need all the help they can get! I have known Chelcie for 5 months and she is a caring and funny human! She always tries to light up your day if it’s going badly. She always tries to be a positive person and she is doing her best at that right now! Please help if even only $5, $10 or anything! He did a very selfless and caring thing and now he is paying the price for it unfortunately!

Brad and I are so grateful for all of the support that we've received from friends, family and strangers. We are humbled by the incredible outpour of love and support. I believe that my husband is alive today because of the power of prayer. I believe that he will make a full recovery but I also realize that this will take time. Every day is a small victory and I thank God every day that my husband is alive.
Brad will be in hospital in Kelowna for as long as it takes to get him well again. Our home is in Penticton and we have pets and bills to pay. I have decided to go back to work for a couple of days a week to keep my sanity and to have a little bit of income but the reality is we are still in need of prayers and financial support. It is the most humbling thing I've had to do... to ask for money but this tragedy has brought me to my knees and closer to God. Brad requires a helmet that will cost just $500. He still has a piece of his skull cap missing and they don't plan to reattach it until they are certain that Brad's brain has stopped swelling. He needs the helmet to protect his head as he continues on this road to recovery. He is making progress with the physiotherapy but doesn't have the balance or strength back.
It breaks my heart every day to see Brad in this state but I'm filled with hope because of people like you. We accept all of the love and support we can receive at this time. All prayers are welcome <3

I just want to say how proud I am of my husband . I walked in his room today and he looked at me and smiled . He managed to say the word babe . And he hugged me and kissed me . And I cried I couldnt contain my happy tears ❤. And he wiped my face with a tissue:-). And to my surprise he had been walking today with a Walker!!!!!. My God what a miracle . He is slowly making good progress . Keep praying for us that he will continue making leaps & strides forward in his recovery ❤. One of the happiest days of my life . He even got to see likah and pet her today ❤ Chelsea Eliason
