Put it in Drive for Darius
Donation protected
Last December a teenager named Darius came to my door to sell a variety of products. I asked what he was raising money for and he replied "to pay for college". When I asked what he hoped to do when he got out of college he said "I want to be a chef". As an employee of Johnson & Wales I felt that God had put me in Darius' path. His story is similar to others who come from poverty: being raised by his grandmother along with two sisters (one older and one younger), dealing with financial, educational and social issues.
Amy & I have joined with Sally Hawk to help lift this family out of poverty and to help Darius realize his dream of college and of becoming a chef.
He has a 1 year old sister, Dalasia, that we hope will one day have big dreams as well. We currently have her enrolled in a day care program so that their grandmother (guardian) can go to school and to work. We are raising funds to help with auto repairs, insurance and day care.
Nobody has to do everything but if everyone does something we can make a difference for this family and their future generations.
We thank you for your consideration in supporting this campaign.
