Chavana's Grocery recovery fund

My name is Al Chavana. My parents are the proud owners of Chavana's Grocery Store, in Port Lavaca, Texas. The store has been open since 1952, and in the 64 years of their business, my parents have helped hundreds, if not thousands of people, in their community, by giving food to the needy, helping people find work and in some cases, giving families a place to live while they were down and out.
On the evening of December 21, 2016, my 87-year-old father was hit over the head and robbed, as he was locking up his store. The money taken was not only their means of livelihood, but most of it was checks cashed and money transfers to other companies. The money belonging to the money transfer companies has to be paid back, in full. This will have to come out of my parent's pockets, and it's money they just don't have. My father is very prideful and does not want to burden other people with his debt, but there isn't any other way to repay the money owed, without asking for the community's help. Your donation will be greatly appreciated and used to repay the debt he owes.
