Charmaine fighting stage 4 cancer

Please help my sister Charmaine to fight stage 4 cancer! My big sister Charmaine was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer that has spread from the gallbladder to her liver. She has been in and out from the hospital for more than a month now and is in urgent need for medication. Charmaine was recently transferred to another city where she will get required treatments as soon as her health condition gets better. Her overall health condition was weak after a very stressful period in her life, including moving back to the Philippines from Dubai in Jun 2018. She was already in a lot of pain when leaving Dubai but only after a proper cancer scan the seriousness of the situation was uncovered. Before treatments can start, she has needed several blood transfusions due to very low haemoglobin count. There is no time waste. Please help Charmaine (36y) mother of two boys, Dhimmuse (9y) and Isaac (1y) to get better, and return home to her kids and her husband. We are now asking for a helping hand to cover the high expenses of Charmaine’s treatments.

You can also donate directly to my account FI20 8000 2710 3555 86 (Chenee Lyn Tervo) or by mobile pay 0458789441. We thank you all for the donations!

Background information

Just one year back Charmaine was living in Dubai and had given birth to her second son Isaac. Her husband had work at an IT company and Charmaine was busy taking care of her boys. They ran into economic issues when Charmaine’s husband lost her job.  Charmaine had been staying home with the new born but was now forced back to her job prematurely. The last year has been very stressful for the family and as a responsible person, Charmaine tried her very best to support the family. Last spring the situation got to a point where they had to decide on the future. They decided to move back to the Philippines, but Charmaine ran into visa issues. Her husband and the kids were free to move and they left Dubai in May 2018. Charmaine was left behind to sort out things. Not long after the rest of the family had moved back to Philippines, she realised something was wrong. Charmaine had started to have stomach pain and could feel a lump in her stomach. She had run out of money and could not afford to go for a check-up at a clinic in Dubai. At that point she was also just desperate to leave Dubai and travel home to her family. Days turned to weeks and after almost two months she was finally able to leave Dubai with the help of the Philippine Consulate in Dubai.

When Charmaine arrived in the Philippines she was admitted to the hospital straight away. Several tests and scans were performed, and she got a confirmation that she has a tumour in her gallbladder that had spread out to her liver. After the result had confirmed shed had a tumoru, Charmaine was transferred from her home city to another hospital located in Cebu city to receive better treatment for her condition. More tests and scan where needed to determine the origin of the cancer. Tests and scans included CT scan, endoscopy, bone scan, several laboratory tests etc. The origin of the cancer was found, and it had spread from the gallbladder to the liver. The doctor told the cancer was very aggressive and had already developed into a stage 4 cancer. There was no possibility for a surgery anymore, but chemotherapy needs to be started as soon as possible. Unfortunately, Charmaine’s haemoglobin count was too low to start the treatment and she needed urgently a blood transfusion. After eight blood transfusions her haemoglobin count was at a level that made it possible to start chemotherapy. Chemotherapy sessions have now started, and she reacted well to the first session. Charmaine has great fighting spirit and has stayed positive always.

Her family has moved with her to Cebu city to support her and needed to rent an apartment close to the hospital. The overall expenses have already risen to a five-figure amount in euros and we are struggling to pay the bills. The estimated cost for the treatments over the next 6 months is 25, 000 € at a minimum. Nothing can replace physical and mental support from the family, but money is needed to continue the treatments. To continue the fight, we need help from you. Please help Charmaine to recover and get her back home to her two kids and her husband. Thank you!
