Help Us Build Gilbert's Forever Home!
Meet Gilbert, our spirited grizzly cub with a story of survival and resilience. Gilbert came to Wildlife Images in July 2024 after a tragic start to life. At just 3-4 months old, he was orphaned in Montana when his mother was tragically killed while protecting her cub. Without the proper skills to survive in the wild, Gilbert found refuge at Montana WILD Rehabilitation and Education Center in Helena, MT until he could be transferred to Wildlife Images here in Grants Pass, OR.
Since his arrival, Gilbert has captured our hearts with his playful personality and growing strength. Now, we’re working to give him the safe, enriching home he deserves. Once his new enclosure is complete, Gilbert will make his public debut, inspiring visitors with his story and helping us educate the community about grizzly bears and their importance in our ecosystems.
About Gilbert’s New Enclosure
We’re building a state-of-the-art, naturalistic enclosure that will give Gilbert everything he needs to live a happy, healthy life. His forever home will include:
- A flowing stream and pool for cooling off and play.
- A cozy den for resting and retreating.
- Natural features to mimic the wild, keeping him engaged and enriched.
- Reinforced safety features to ensure security.
- A public viewing area with educational displays, offering visitors a chance to learn about grizzly bears, their habitats, and the conservation efforts needed to protect them.
This enclosure is not just a home for Gilbert- it’s an opportunity to connect the public with the incredible world of wildlife and foster an appreciation for conservation.
We Need Your Help!
Building a home for a grizzly bear is no small task, and we can’t do it without your support. As a nonprofit, Wildlife Images relies heavily on the generosity of our community to care for animals like Gilbert. Your donations will go directly toward materials, construction, and finishing touches to give Gilbert the incredible habitat he deserves, including the viewing area and educational displays.
Gilbert’s new enclosure is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month, and he will make his public debut in February. By contributing to this project, you’re helping Gilbert thrive while supporting our mission to protect and care for wildlife in need.
How You Can Help
Donate today and help us reach our goal! Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to giving Gilbert the perfect home. We will be sure to update you along the way!
