My name is Katie Rainsberger and as a former professional athlete, I’ve experienced firsthand the critical gaps in our understanding of women’s health and exercise. I am raising money for research on women’s health and exercise physiology. During my time as a professional athlete, I experienced firsthand the consequences of inadequate research—an undiagnosed condition ended my career. Now, as a researcher pursuing my PhD at the Technical University of Munich, I am committed to closing these knowledge gaps, particularly in menstrual health and female athletic performance.

Despite growing awareness, research on exercising women remains vastly underfunded—less than 8% of research in this field is conducted on women. I am raising money to fund research exclusively on female athletes to optimize performance, nutrition, and menstrual cycle health.

We are VOICEINSPORT UW, and we are committed to lifting up the voices of girls and women in sport, promoting mental health for athletes, and advocating for Title IX at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and beyond.

We are raising money to cover chapter expenses and fundraise travel to Washington, DC to advocate for Title IX on Capitol Hill.

I am Molly Dreher, a VOICEINSPORT Foundation advocate and policy researcher that helped bring our bill, the Fair Play for Women Act, into existence. This upcoming Wednesday, February 5th, is National Girls and Women in Sport Day.

To celebrate and educate, my team and I at VISF are hosting another Capitol Hill Day. Our goal is to bring students and leaders from K-12, collegiate, and community athletics together and raise support for the bill.
