Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Tampa Bay HEAT (Home Education Activities Teams), Inc., Big Dream Project and any donation will help make an impact.
The Tampa Bay HEAT is a 501c3 homeschool support group that facilitates sports, classes, field trips, support and a facility to the community in the Tampa, Florida area. Homeschooled kids have the opportunity to play competitive sports, learn about the arts with dance, drama and fine art programs, and connect with other homeschooled kids through clubs, parties, field trips and events! Since 2011, the HEAT has run the Homeschool Resource Center as a location to hold many of our activities.
With the growth of homeschooling and our organization (we have over 520 families this year), we are absolutely bursting at the seams and are pursuing the purchase of a wonderful, larger facility. The property has roadside frontage with room for ample parking and future expansion like additional classrooms, a gymnasium, and more. The price tag is around $1 million, and the facility requires about $50,000 of up-front work.
We know that this project can only be a success if God is behind it and with community support. Once we are in the facility, there are multiple opportunities to increase our revenue with rentals, increased classes, decreased expenses of renting out other facilities when our current facility is too small (around $12K each year), and increase opportunities to host larger events for the community.
