Panama Mission - Penonomé 2025
Want to join us in making a difference?
We are raising money to benefit those in need in the region of Penonomé, and any donation will help make an impact.
Surgical Volunteers International and our partner, the Prescribing Life Foundation, plan to continue offering free specialty surgical and health care to the underserved and less privileged communities of the world. We will return to Penonomé, the capital city of Coclé, Panama.
This mission is coordinated through the assistance of the Panamanian Ministry of Health, local Lions' Clubs in Panama, Hospital Aquilino Tejeira and the regional health administration of Coclé.
This will be our third trip to this location. The team will perform surgical procedures to correct congenital and acquired deformities of the head and neck, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary tracts and plastic surgical correction of soft tissue lesions and hand anomalies. In addition, there will be attention to treating patients with chronic pain disorders, renal conditions, and prenatal screening.
We will also be supporting an additional project with the local team to construct a housing facility near the hospital to support indigenous and first national patients who travel long distances for medical care. This home will provide a safe, welcoming place to stay during our surgical missions and will allow the local hospital to continue caring for these patients year-round. Your support will help us offer healing, dignity, and access to life-changing treatment.
