Graduating from Their Endeavors
Greetings to one and all. I am sitting down to offer the golden opportunity we have, as a collective, to uplift our Youth. Rancho Cielo has been, and continues to be, a place that provides a safe environment for learning, living and breathing. I am proud to be here and be part of it.
As many of you know, there have been some of our young youth from surrounding areas participating in a pre-apprentice program on grounds. Many of them have come from the Youth Corps program and I feel a deep connection to them. They have been taking baby steps toward a better future and it brings me joy to see it happening.
The odds they face are overwhelming for some. I am reminded of it daily. I think of those that have come into my office that are incarcerated or no longer living. Memories like that put sadness on my heart. I wish I could have done for them but understand that we can not save the world by ourselves. But together we can move mountains.
Without further delay, allow me to elaborate on the vision that came to me. I see us coming together as a unit to make this upcoming graduation a special one. One that people, especially those graduating and their families, will never forget. Graduation is set for March 29th from 12 pm to 1:30 pm.
I have spoken to a generous business owner who is willing to help us with this. I approached him with the idea of putting these young men in suits for graduation day and he has offered an unbeatable price of $100 per suit. This will include pants, shirt, tie and overcoat. We have a friend of ours coming out to fit them this Wednesday.
So, I am humbly asking if you would like to help us, help me, help them. I have asked some of the participants their opinion on this and they are excited about the idea of putting on a suit. Many of them have never worn one, in fact, some have never walked in a graduation. I believe this will have a powerful and lasting impact on their lives. If you donate, we would love to show our appreciation by inviting you to graduation. Please contact me to RSVP as we will have food and drinks.
