PAL screens, trains, and registers volunteer therapy dog-handler teams and coordinates their visits with community members in schools, hospitals, retirement homes, assisted-living facilities, veterans' facilities, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, libraries, university campuses, workplaces, hospice sites, and elsewhere in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
