Pelican Players dba Linkville Playhouse

Hello volunteers and patrons.  We have something sad to report.

On 5/21/21, there was a fire in the Lake Park Towers apartment above the Linkville lobby-resulting in the sprinkler system being triggered. This flooded the apartment, broke through the ceiling, and flooded our lobby.

Thankfully everyone is safe, no one was harmed, and the Linkville theater itself was untouched.
However, our lobby is not habitable at the moment, and it will be a while until it is deemed safe to be occupied.

All the costumes have also been soaked from the flood as well and will need to be laundered. They have all had to be relocated to a garage for safekeeping. 

"In the Beginning" written and directed by Kevin Coleman was supposed to premier next Friday May 28th, unfortunately the show will have to be delayed once again (previously from Covid mandates). 

This has already been a hard year with COVID canceling and delaying shows, so on top of that-this incident hurts. But, we have a strong community of dedicated volunteers and patrons behind us, so we have no doubt we will come back stronger than ever-soon.

We are starting with a moving goal of $5,000 to help repair and rebuild and any amount will help!

More information about Pelican Players dba Linkville Playhouse: The Linkville Players, located at the Linkville Playhouse at 201 Main Street in Klamath Falls, Oregon, is the oldest community theater group in the Klamath Basin. It is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to presenting an annual season of dramatic productions for the benefit and enjoyment of local residents, visitors to the area, and others interested in theater.

Right now is an uncertain time. COVID-19 has disrupted much of daily life, including our local arts and culture scene in Oregon.  Due to social distancing guidelines The Linkville Players had to cancel the rest of the run of this years musical "Austentatious" and postpone the next show, "Talk Radio" until next season.  The Linkville is an entirely volunteer run theater company, and relies on ticket sales to generate cash to pay for rights and production costs, as well as overhead costs.  

The hardest part of all of this is the cast of "Austentatious" (pictured in the GoFund me cover photo) worked for months rehearsing their show, learning songs and choreography, and only were able to perform the show twice, instead of the normal 5 weekend run.

Therefore, the Board of Directors of the Linkville are asking for help from our local patrons and supporters. Suggested donation amount is $13, the cost it would have been to buy a ticket to see "Austentatious". Thank you for any support you can offer, the Linkville appreciates the Klamath community tremendously, and we are thinking of all the other local businesses and nonprofits who have been impacted during this time.
