Once known as Gucci, this 1.4-year-old Rottweiler has the heart of a hero and the soul of a fighter. Earlier this year, he came into Paws4Thought Rescue after surviving something no dog ever should. He was found in devastating condition at 9 months old—believed to have fallen from a moving vehicle and left untreated for far too long.

The West LA Shelter couldn’t afford the surgery he needed, and to spare him from euthanasia, he was surrendered to Paws4Thought Rescue.

He suffered torn ligaments in both front legs, a broken hip, a broken leg, and a shattered kneecap. He couldn’t stand. He couldn’t walk. But his spirit never gave up.

Now lovingly fostered in San Diego and renamed Bruce (after Batman, of course), this sweet boy continues to defy the odds. He greets every day with a goofy grin, a wagging tail, and a gentle heart. Everyone who meets him falls in love—it’s kind of his thing.

But Bruce is still in pain.

He’s on round-the-clock medication and can only walk short distances before it becomes unbearable. Amputation once seemed like the only option—but now we have hope.

About a year ago Paws4thought Animal Rescue received a distress call regarding more than 20 cats and kittens having been found on the side of the road stuffed into two kennels.

A call was made to a few cat rescues as Paws4thought Animal Rescue is mainly a dog rescue and a reputable cat rescue stepped in and helped not only the original 20 but the additional 30 plus that were found in the vicinity of a mobile home park in Valley Center, San Diego County

7 of the more than 50 cats found in that colony were left behind with a resident of the mobile home park

Now a year later, the original cat rescue is unable to assist these remaining cats and the Good Samaritan has realized that she is in over her head and is unable to provide care for these poor souls.

We need your help in providing care for these cats.

These rescued cats were so weak ten days ago that they barely moved or made a peep, or should I say "meow"!

Now in their foster home, all 6 want to be snuggled and petted all at once. They are chatting, aka meowing, away!

We are raising funds to cover their vet care to date. They all need extensive dental work & other procedures including eye removals in a few of them. They are finally strong enough for anesthesia.

Many, many, many teeth need to be pulled from each cat due to the stomatitis. A few eyes will need corrective surgery as well.

The vet care so far, plus plenty of good food and lots of love have made a huge difference, but we want to get them all 100% healthy so they can find their fur-ever homes.

We COULD NOT do this without Paws4Thought Animal Rescue. This amazing DOG rescue stepped up without hesitation and took all 6 cats to their vet right away so they could get the care they badly needed!!!

All cats had fleas, stomatitis, and calicivirus. A couple have major eye issues. One cat is missing toes on his left paw from being hit by a car and not receiving the needed treatment.

All have/had inflammation, dehydration, runny noses, malnourishment, calicivirus and so much more.

Please help these sweet young helpless souls. They deserve to be cared for.

Once fully vetted , they will be available for adoption.

6/28/2025 Update - Hey friends so the kitties are doing so much better! Our 3 triplets aka the little black panthers are recovered from their dentals and feeling great!!! We are so happy for them, now our other 3 (the 2 black & white babies our teeny little Burmese girl)that were in worse shape are strong enough for anesthesia to get their little teeth pulled now. They are going on Tuesday 7/1/25 so I am asking if you can share with your peeps to get enough to cover those procedures. little Nemo, Suki & Piggy will feel so much better after they get those rotten teeth out and can heal and be ready for their fur-ever homes. This crew continues to be the sweetest group of fosters I have ever taken care of, and that says a lot. Please share with your peeps and ask them to share with theirs etc!! If everyone put in $5 or $10 it all adds up. Paws4Thought Rescue has really stood up for this group of kitties and the kitties really want to reimburse for their medical care! Please give what you can!!!
