Imagine your Homeland being illegally occupied. Imagine millions of your people dying with no fault of theirs. A mother's shot while returning home from a market. A father is shot while praying the Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa. A brother shot while saving his little sister from a bomb blast that the Israelis caused as a 'preventative measure'. You tell me what potential terrorists could be discovered or uncovered in a children's playground. You tell me why an individual whose Homeland is Palestine can't return there- but any Jew, regardless of ethnicity or background, whether they have Israeli roots or not, can be welcomed in our Palestine with open arms. You tell me why Palestine can't own a military, and their self-made protectors are labeled terrorists.
Visualize the scene- a father is leaving for the market. but when he's leaving the house, what does it look like? Some may describe it as if the family was waving the final goodbye- as if he's a soldier going to war. Who knows what the Israelis might do. Will they see their father again?
Mothers' and kids' hearts freeze when they hear a plane flying above. Children cant sleep at night- what if someone forces them out of their house? Despite everything that the Palestinians go through, the world is hushed and overlooks their struggles. Not only do they invalidate the torture, but they also validate the Israeli violence- causing the world to defend and support Israel in every aspect- especially financially, and media+military wise. While Israel violates one human right regulation after the other, the world is full of praises for the tyrants. Palestine is bleeding, and the world presents a standing ovation to the oppressors.
The world hasn't gone numb, though. Recently, with everything that's been occurring in Ukraine, the world is in tears. Millions of dollars are being raised for the victims. Our hearts go out to the innocent Ukrainians that have been affected in any way. We don't mean to compare the two warzones, but when it comes to Palestine (or any middle eastern country for that matter), the world chooses to close its eyes. An issue we need the world to understand is that Palestine has been bleeding for 74 years. All of that, with absolutely no support from the world.
To all my Jewish brothers and sisters, we condemn any acts of Anti-Semitic violence- but there's a difference between denouncing Zionism and denouncing Judaism. If you are a Zionist, you approve of acts of violence against innocents. You are one of those individuals who call victims of war 'collateral damage'.
We call upon the important political figures in our country (specifically our state) to make a change. You may not be able to end the war single-handedly, and/or change people's minds, but you can do something as simple as show your support for Palestine. They need to all the love and support they can get. You could donate to the organizations that pledge to help the victims. You could make a difference.
It's about time we contribute to end the lies on social media and the news.
