Oklahoma Full Gospel Central Church

Hello everyone! I don’t usually do GoFundme’s, but I would appreciate everyone’s help if possible. I attend Oklahoma Full Gospel Central Church where my dad is the head pastor there.

On August 7th, we arrived at our church for Sunday morning service. When we walked into the chapel, there was a hole in the wall next to the cross and all of our sound equipment, musical instruments, TVs, projector, laptops were gone. The rest of the building was also ransacked. The suspects took our vacuums and power tools, went through our food and beverages, even took our offering box. They had left our place of worship a total mess, leaving us with the very bare minimum.

After calling the police, we had the crime scene unit take DNA samples from evidence the suspects had left behind, as well as fingerprints around the building. We suspect that this was not a one-man job considering the scale of items stolen and the damage that was done both inside and outside the building.

It is a shame to see that people would break into a church building and steal everything we use during our services. It is even more appalling and leaves us speechless that they would cut a hole in the wall to steal from a church.

The financial loss from everything stolen is expected to be over $50,000 since most of the equipment was high grade and brand new. Fortunately, our insurance policy does cover some of the loss but only a small portion, which is why I came to create this page.

We are a small Korean community church located in SW Oklahoma City. Our church has been in Oklahoma for over 20 years now. We moved to our new building mid-2021 and renovated the entire building with the help of many people, who we are so thankful for. My parents have worked hard to maintain the church during hard times, and our church community had put a lot of effort into turning this building into our new place of worship. Like mentioned earlier, there was a lot of people who jumped in and helped out physically, mentally, and financially like it was their own project which is why it breaks our hearts to see the damage people would do to a church that brought back laughter and livelihood, brought community together again.

If you can donate to help us recover, we would greatly appreciate it. How big or small the amount is does not matter to us; what matters is that there are people encouraging us to keep going and that there is still hope that God will help us rebuild our chapel. 안녕하세요. 8월 7일 주일 아침에 저희는 평소와 다름없이 교회에 도착했습니다. 하지만 교회로 들어가 보니 너무나도 충격적인 것을 발견했습니다. 성전 앞벽 십자가 옆에 큰 구멍이 뚫려있었고 모든 음향 장비, 악기들, 전자기기들, 등등은 없어졌습니다. 교회 친교실, 북카페, 사무실들 모든 공간들은 난장판이 되었고 물건들은 없었습니다. 청소기, 공구들, 냉장고에 들어있던 음료수와 음식들도 다 훔쳐간것을 봤습니다. 심지어 헌금함도 갖고 갔더라고요.

저희는 이런 교회를 보고 경찰에 신고한 후, 범죄 현장 수사팀과 경찰 두분이 와서 증거물과 지문/DNA를 수거해 수사를 하겠다고 얘기를 해줬습니다. 도난당한 물품의 규모와 건물 내외부 피해 등을 고려할 때 1인 작업이 아니었던 것으로 추정하고 있습니다.

교회를 망가트리고 예배할때 사용하는 모든 것을 훔치는 것은 너무나도 악한 일이고 잘못된 일 입니다.

도난당한 모든 것으로 인한 금전적 손실은 5만 달러가 넘을 것으로 예상됩니다. 다행히도 저희 보험이 손실의 일부를 보상해 주기는 하지만, 아주 작은 부분만 보상해 주어서 이 페이지를 만들었습니다.

저희 교회는 20년 넘게 SW 오클라호마시티에 위치한 한인이민 교회입니다. 저희 교회는 작년 2021년도에 새 건물로 이사했고, 감사하게도 많은 사람들의 도움으로 건물을 새성전으로 꾸몄습니다. 힘든 시기들 동안 교회를 유지하기 위해 많은 노력을 했었고, 최근 교회 이전을 통해 목사님과 성도님들, 지인들의 많은 기도와 응원, 도움, 은혜를 통해 새 출발을 이제 막 시작하려던 참이었습니다. 한 몸, 한 마음으로 도와주셨던 분들도 너무 많았습니다. 이제 막 커다란 산 하나를 넘었다 생각했을떼 이런 불미스러운 일이 터져서 너무 안타깝고 절망스럽기도 합니다. 하지만 저희는 이것또한 하나님의 계획이고 이 일을 통해 저희 교회에게 더 좋은 것, 더 많은 축복과 은혜, 그리고 더 나아갈 수 있는 힘과 희망을 주실갓을 믿고 발을 디뎌봅니다.

저희 교회를 다시 꾸미는 과정에 기부해 주시면 너무 너무 감사하겠습니다. 금액이 많던 적던 상관없습니다. 조금이라도 부담이 안되는 한에서 도움을 줄 수 있다면 너무 감사하겠습니다. 만약 금전적으로 직접 도움을 줄 수 없다면 생각 날때마다 기도 해주시길 바랍니다.
