The National Urban League promotes economic empowerment through education and job training, housing and community development, workforce development, entrepreneurship, health, and quality of life.

People of color are changing the way America does business. The buying power of African-American and Latino consumers tops $1 trillion annually, and research indicates that these groups are also the fastest growing number of new small business owners.

Business startups are key to job and wealth creation, and through the work of the National Urban League’s Entrepreneurship Center Program, people across the country are being empowered to establish new ventures every day.

The National Urban League's mission is to assist African-Americans and others in underserved communities achieve their highest potential to achieve social parity, economic self- reliance, power, and civil rights.

As we continue to witness the injustice against black people in America and across the world, it's become even more important that we stand united in our fight to dismantle hundreds of years of systemic racism. 

So let's take action together! 

In October, I will be running my own marathon in the fight against racial injustice to benefit the National Urban League.

The National Urban League is an organization committed to helping BIPOC in underserved communities achieve civil rights and eliminate equality gaps across key foundational pillars: Education & Youth Development,; Justice & Civic Engagement; Housing & Community Development; Jobs, Entrepreneurship, & Business Development; and Health & Quality of Life.

As an Urban League scholar -- I am a direct result of the impact that this organization has on the black community. And as we fight for equality and justice, the Urban League continues to be at the forefront. Most recently in June 2020, Kamala Harris and Cory Booker introduced the Justice in Policing Act of 2020 which incorporates provisions of the 10 point plan that the National Urban League laid out.
