Tee It Up for Tucker: A Golf Learning Center for Maine Youth
We're raising funds for something Tucker would've loved—a Golf Learning Center in Freeport, Maine, where kids can learn the game without needing a trust fund or a polo shirt collection. This new not-for-profit center, part of Maine Golf’s Capital Campaign, will make golf more accessible and a lot less intimidating. Front and center in the plans: The Tucker Hodgkins Golf Education Room—a space perfectly placed between the museum and the pro shop. (Which is poetic, because Tucker lived somewhere between history and a hot deal on wedges.)
Tucker didn’t just love golf—he made it his own. He brought energy, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos to a sport that usually frowns on all three. He was the guy telling a story mid-swing, chirping his friends during their putts, and somehow managing to lose a club without ever noticing. He played fast, talked faster, and made every round feel like a party you were lucky to be invited to.
He was loyal, ridiculous, and the funniest guy in the room—whether the room wanted him to be or not. We miss him like crazy.
So now we’re doing what he would’ve done: paying it forward. We're collecting donations to support this incredible cause in his name, giving kids the same love for golf (and life) that Tucker gave to all of us.
Come be part of something good. Help us honor Tucker in a way that guarantees his legacy—and his irreverent, unstoppable spirit—lives on.
