Friends of Salem New Hampshire Recreation Inc

Hey everyone, my name is Greg Getchell. For those of you who don’t know, this fundraiser is here to help save, expand and rebuild the Salem, NH skatepark next to hedgehog pond. There have been many days over the years I drive past this skatepark and enjoy seeing kids and guys of all ages in there enjoying themselves and doing what they love. Just staying busy and outside like the old days and off the video games. Recently I was driving home from work when I saw my friend Eric in there who’s been sober for a couple years, and I pulled in to tell him how happy I was to see him staying busy and still enjoying what he loves. Eric had informed me that due to the skatepark deteriorating and falling apart, it was shut down so that no one would get hurt. My brother Brennan started this skatepark in 2004 when he was younger by getting petitions signed, raising money, and receiving donations to have this park built.

As time has passed, and now 17 years later, skateboarding is now an Olympic sport. As Eric and I have spoken more and more, our vision is to expand the skate park and rebuild it professionally. Not only to rebuild, but give kids a chance to chase their dreams and aim for the Olympics while doing something they love. The town has been very helpful in this process by explaining what we need to do and the process it takes. We have partnered up with a non profit organization called Friends of Salem New Hampshire Recreation, Inc. They are a 501 (c) e and any Business that helps us and makes donations will be able to receive a receipt to use as a tax write off. We have been in contact with a couple of professional skatepark building companies which will be chosen in the coming days to build this image of ours. Any donations made are more appreciated then you can imagine. If you all can help us share this around it is even more appreciated.
