A message to The Hat Club:

I’m embarking on a journey to ride my bicycle across the United States. Starting in San Diego, CA and finishing up in Sea Isle City, NJ, I will be covering roughly 5,000 miles along the way. At first, I was doing it for myself. To challenge myself and to continue to stretch my comfort zone. But I’ve realized I wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for a lot of the people I’ve met in my life, one in particular.

I’m lucky enough to call Mikey my brother, and if it weren’t for him, I’m not sure where I’d be in this life. Mikey lives with both down syndrome and autism, and though many may choose to see that as a burden, he continues to inspire me every day. He is a constant reminder that happiness and joy can be found in the simplest of things. Though he may not understand the positive impact he makes on everyone he meets, he will forever do just that.

And so, the goal I’ve set out to achieve is equivalent to $2 per mile over the 5,000 mile journey. If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate your interest, and I hope you will consider making a donation to help me achieve my goal!

This bicycle tour is dedicated to all of those who are effected by autism. Everyone deserves the attention and care they need in order to live a great life.
