DICOTA USA is fundraising
Every Breath Counts.
On behalf of the Diaspora Council for Tanzanians in America (DICOTA), a 501 (c) (3)
non-profit organization. We work to unite and strengthen the Tanzanian American Diaspora and its supporters, in order to enhance the economic, health, and social well-being of Tanzanians and Americans.
We humbly invite you to engage with us, Tanzanians in the Diaspora, in *a Every Breath Counts* fundraising campaign to raise at least $11,000 for Mnazi Mmoja Hospital in Tanzania. Donated funds will help buy 2 newborn table warmers, 1 transport incubator, 5 phototherapy machines, 3 CPAP machines, 5 portable pulse oximeter and 1 bilirubin scan for newborn care at the hospital.
A $1495 donation can help buy 1 newborn resuscitation table that will potentially save lives of many infants in Tanzania.
Limited resources are contributing to preventable deaths of babies in developing countries. According to
World Health Organization (WHO), a baby is 10 times more likely to die within the first month if born in Sub Saharan Africa compared to high-income country. In 2019, 2.5 million babies died during the first month of life. 75 percent of these babies died within the first week with 1 million these babies died
within first 24 hours worldwide per WHO. Having skilled birth attendants and appropriate equipment to care for these babies will help prevent a lot of these deaths.
As Diaspora it is a time to do our part by saving the lives of newborns. We encourage you to contribute towards *Every Breath Counts* fundraising campaign.
Our goal is for the donations to reach us before December 31, 2020. We depend on your generous donation to bring hope and joy to parents and families of children in Tanzania.
