Chhobighar Film Society, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, a Bengali film society based in Chicago, formed to: (1) Engage the local community in Chicagoland area in creative and cultural discovery through moving images and by offering regular presentations of diverse cinematic works, (2) Advocate and encourage the appreciation of Bengali cinema both as a medium of education and as an art, (3) Conduct Educational Programs by inviting film dignitaries, including film directors, story writers, script-writers, university/college professors, and hosting presentations, study sessions and discussion forums, (4) Offer interactive sessions (Live and Virtual), (5) Host annual Film Festival to emphasize cultural integration and ensure the next generation has access to the riches of world cinema.
