What Do We Need?

We need your help, YOU have the ability to help us build this Masjid. We have started building a new mosque but unfortunately we are unable to complete it due to lack of funds. We are now appealing to the rest of the Ummah for support! We can't let a small obstacle like this prevent our brothers and sisters from Worshipping Allah. We have community members waiting to donate their skills to help build the Masjid but we do not have the funds to purchase the materials needed. 






 Help Us Rebuild!

Hurricane Harvey flooded our center in 2017 along with a great Houston area.  As soon as the hurricane passed, the men in our community set to rebuild our center as a placeholder for our current building.
In early 2019, construction began for a multipurpose building for our community to fulfill our previous duties as well as to expand our horizons to fulfill other activities. 

This new building that is still currently under construction by 2020 will include prayer rooms, classrooms, an office, a separate youth-gathering area, a guest room for our visitors from out of town, a multipurpose room that will include a kitchen but may also function as a gathering area for adults, wudu cleansing rooms, and restrooms.

This construction has been led by husbands, fathers, brothers, and our neighbors. Our mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters have prepared homemade food for our volunteers to sustain them through construction. The current state of the new and
improved BCCH has been at the hands of only members of our community who have dedicated their available time and money to help rebuild our center without any outside help from construction companies.

After Hurricane Harvey struck the Texan outposts of the Mexican bush, the flood it brought with it caused the biggest damage in America's 4th largest city, Houston. There is a small Bosnian community here, which, despite of the lack of material resources, successfully manages to keep flourishing with the help of its devoted members. With the tremendous efforts and sacrifices of our valuable members, in these ten years since the congregation has existed, we have succeeded in making a beautiful mosque where we come to worship and a home for our imam.

This summer we were especially joyful because we had a new imam that we brought from overseas with his wife and three little children before Ramadan, our holy month of fasting. Quickly, our community gathered donations to provide our imam a car and money to feed his family. With the various things we helped gather the family started to live a life with a unique and united community. Everything was the best and just as they were settling down, before Eid came a hurricane with the most prevalent floods in the last 1000 years and caused damage we hope to fix. Our beautiful mosque is totally flooded, and sadly the imam’s home.

When the water is withdrawn, there is much to be done on both facilities, including a car that is completely flooded.

According to expert estimates, in order to remedy the damage caused by the flood, at least 120,000 American dollars are needed. My community in Houston is very small, so it is almost impossible to get such a tremendous amount to recover our mosque .

Posle naleta uragana Harwey’a  koji je, dosavsi  sa meksickog zaljeva udario priobalske krajeve Teksasa, poplava je bila ta koja je izazvala najvecu stetu u ovom, cetvrtom po velicini gradu u Americi, Hjustonu. Ovde zivi jedna mala bosanska zajednica koja i pored nedostatka materijalnih sredstava, uspjesno uspijeva da odrzi dzemat. Uz ogromne napore i zrtve nasih vrijednih dzematlija, u ovih desetak godina otkako postoji dzemat, uspijela se napraviti dzamija i mobilna kuca za imama. Ovog ljeta dzematlije su bili posebno radosni jer im je tacno pred Ramazan stigao novi imam sa hanumom i troje malo djece. Ubrzo su se dzematlije organizovale prikupljajuci sredstva za naseg efendiju kako bi mogao nesmetano obavljati imamske duznosti. Auto i ostale kucne potrepstine su donirane, pa je dzemat ponovo poceo da zivi zivotom slozne i jedinstvene zajednice. Sve je teklo u najboljem redu i onda, kada smo se trebali najvise radovati, pred bajram je stigao uragan sa najzescim poplavama u posljednjih 1000 godina. Nasa ljepotica je totalno poplavljena, sto je slucaj i sa kucom imama.

Kada se voda povuce, imace puno toga da se uradi na oba objekta ukljucujuci i auto koje je potpuno unisteno poplavom.

Po procjeni strucnih lica, da bi se sanirala steta koji je nanijela poplava, potrebno je najmanje 120,000 americkih dolara. Zelim napomenuti da je zajednica u Hjustonu vrlo mala, tako da je gotovo nemoguce da se sa oko 80’ak  clanova koliko dzemat trenutno broji obnovi dzamija i sanira steta koja je nacinjena.

Molimo svu bracu i sestre u vjeri, koji zele da zarade sevape ovog kisnog kurban-bajrama da se odazovu ovom nasem pozivu, makar i minimalnom donacijom. Molimo sve one koji zele da ih Dragu Allah pogleda okom Milosti i Oprosta na Danu u kojem ce se pokazati na vidjelo covjekova djela, da doniraju koliko mogu kako bi se Allahovo (DZ.S) Ime culo u  jednom od najjuznijih gradova Sjedinjenih Drzava.
