Change young lifes in Ghana!!

Donation protected
The Uhuru4all Foundation, was founded in 2007, based in Ghana; to provide the less fortunate youngsters with the opportunity to get a vocational education in sewing, hereby providing them the chance to stay out of crime and off the streets and increasing the chances of a job in the future.

Not only does a vocational training provides them with more chances for a financially independent future, it also aids in reducing the rate of poverty in their communities and helps them to stay out of criminal and drugs related activities. As a result, the foundation expects the youngsters to grow up healthier, happier and more peaceful, so that the immediate environment will also benefit from their education.

“We decided on sewing as a skill and study because tailors are in high demand in Ghana, it being a custom for the Ghanians to let their clothes be made. It’s vital for the youth to have acces to vocational studies in order for them to have acces to a better paid job.”

Due to their hard working, the small and dedicated team have been able to exist for 10 years already.

At the moment the foundation has a small center in a village close to Accra, where it has been successfully providing the ‘sewing training’ for young students since years. There is an enormous demand of students wanting to enroll, however the center currently only holds space for max 10 students.

In order to provide more space for more students to join we need to double this by building a bigger center, so that new students do not have to sit outside for their training. The extra space will also provide us with the opportunity to introduce another vocational training: “Tie and dye (Batik)”.

In order to become a sustainable organization, we have come up with the idea of implanting a shop where fabrics and accessorizes will be sold.

To make this all possible we have started building a new two-story center maximizing the use of the remaining land, as shown in the picture (below).

The new building will include two classrooms for the studies, a shop and in addition a studio/room wille be added for rental. This is intended to be a structural source of income for the Foundation in addition to the store, so that financial sustainability is assured! We will also be meeting the needs of the people in the area, as there is no such shop currently nearby
We need a total amount of €21.446 euro. This is will enable us to build the structure we need and to purchase all the necessary equipments for us to start the trainings.

We hope to provide a pleasant environment for education with or without rain or sunshine. Our students are those who have motivated us to come up with this expansion project because of their seriousness and eagerness to learn in all circumstances. All trainees who started the sewing course passed their exams at the NVTI! And 90% finds a job or start their own business.

We have seen many lives change because they have been able to obtain their certificate and the training has equipped them with a skill that will be useful to them and their families wherever they are.

Our goal has always been to pave the way for the poor who had to drop out of school due to lack of funds. Instead of leaving them behind in the social vices (drug addiction, armed robbery, prostitution etc) we have created this foundation to help them.

By supporting this project you will make it possible for around 30 students a year to make their own living with a proper vocation!
