Chance Logan Clark Recovery Fund

Chance Logan Clark, a 14-year old boy and Grade 9 student, was tragically struck by a truck while crossing at the intersection of 85th Ave and 86th Street on his way to school in Fort St. John. Hit on January 22nd at 7:45AM, Chance was immediately flown to the Vancouver Children’s Hospital from Fort St. John, British Columbia given his critical state.

Immediately following the hit, Chance had:

Shattered both femurs
Broke multiple ribs
Broke his pelvis

His first surgery on January 24, had to be aborted mid operation due to respiratory distress. Pins and external braces were temporarily put into place until his condition stabilized.

Due to the complications of the first surgery, Chance is slated for another surgery on Tuesday, January 29, where he will have rods installed through the center of his femurs.

Chance has been in and out of consciousness since the accident, able to speak to his parents for a few minutes at a time before blacking out again.

Until he is further stabilized, doctors are not able to provide a recovery timeline to Chance’s parents. He has undergone 2 CT scans, and is presently waiting for his condition to improve to undergo an MRI.

We want to take time to mention that the driver did the right thing – he immediately called emergency services and stayed with Chance until they arrived. He is cooperating with the police and very remorseful.

As his family, friends, teachers, and community would agree, Chance is a lively, energetic, and kind soul, passionate about skateboarding and basketball. The community cannot imagine a future without Chance in it, which is why we are looking to you. We are asking you consider supporting him and help with the extra costs of his recovery.

Any extra funds raised through this campaign will be set aside in a trust for Chance’s university tuition, so he is able to attend college and prepare for his future.

We need your help.

Sometimes, unfair things happen to good people, and everyone would agree that his family are one of the nicest, most supportive units within the greater community. If Chance’s story tugs on your heartstrings or inspires you to donate, please share this campaign with your friends and family on social media.

Together, we can make a difference for this young boy, fighting for recovery.
