My mother's lung cancer recently came back. With a vengeance. In the form of stage 4 bone cancer. In three short weeks we have discovered cancer in her bones in her hips, her left femur, her ribs, shoulders, neck, spine, and brain. The doctors have already done radiation on her spine as they want to avoid spinal cord damage. This week she will be fitted for 2 masks to target the spots in her brain and neck. She goes for infusion (hydration) three times a week. The will have to do surgery next week to have a port put in as they have difficulty getting to her veins to give her fluids. She is in a lot of pain so she does not move around much. She is heavily medicated so she is pretty much sleeping most of the time. She will have to do several rounds of radiation to get all of the spots. They want to try other therapies as well to see if she responds to any of them well. She is not working. My Dad is her primary caregiver and he is not working either. He is in the middle of a workman's comp case and there is no money coming in. We need financial help.
