Help Grow Cerveza Zenith

I am helping Cerveza Zenith to raise funds to grow their brewery in Cusco, Peru.

Cerveza Zenith is the brainchild of my brother Zac Lanham and his wife Milka Sotomayor. Zac made Cusco his home in 2008 after leaving Australia in 2005 to travel around South America. He met Milka, a beautiful Peruvian girl whose spirit matched his, and there he stayed. Milka recognised Zac’s passion for all things beer and together they opened one of the first craft breweries in Cusco in 2012.

The Story of Zenith:
Zenith means the pinnacle or peak. It is also a word that combines elements of both Zac and Milka’s names (the Z from Zac combined with Milka’s middle name - Senith). Zac explains the significance of the Zenith name by saying “we take that to represent the peak of quality, the pinnacle of flavour in craft brewing, and this is what we aim to achieve with Cerveza Zenith”. The beer already lives up to its name - brewed at an altitude of 3400 metres above sea level, it is already at its own pinnacle.

Cerveza Zenith’s mission is to share the Craft Brew Culture. “We want to develop and serve beers of the highest quality, something new and different, a beer with character. We are committed to providing an excellent product through continuous improvement, to achieve not only our own satisfaction, but that of all of our customers. We are part of the Craft Brew Revolution in Peru, and are here to mark the difference in flavor, body and aroma that we can find in each style of beer. Sharing our passion, one beer at a time.”

Cerveza Zenith opened with 2 beer styles on tap at Norton’s Bar in Cusco in 2012, and now have up to 5 styles on tap as well as bottled beer at a number of other bars across Cusco, Lima and Arequipa. Over the past 12 months they have undergone significant expansion with the introduction of bigger equipment to enable them to meet a growing demand.  Since opening in 2012 Cerveza Zenith has grown from a 40L nano brewery to a 500L micro brewery producing approximately 4000L per month.

Milestones achieved to date:
* September 2014 - Bottle beer launched in Cusco
* December 2014 - Cerveza Zenith was one of 12 craft breweries to take part in Peru's first Craft Beer Festival.
* December 2014 Cerveza Zenith launched in Lima.
* February 2015 Cerveza Zenith launched in Arequipa

The next step for Cerveza Zenith is to build a brew bar at their brewery which will enable them to do tastings, tours and small functions and they need your help!

Funding Goals:
Cerveza Zenith have two goals this year:
1) Build a Brew Bar with the capacity to serve 25-30 people at their brewery in Cusco; and
2) Grow their knowledge to enable them to brew even better beer!

Your donations will help Cerveza Zenith to:
* Fitout the bar with a draft system so that only the freshest, cold beer can be served.
* Purchase fittings and furniture so that you can be comfortable while you enjoy a brew and maybe even catch a glimpse of the brewmaster at work.
* Purchase glassware, coasters and maybe even some merchandise (depending on the success of this campaign) because it’s so much nicer than drinking a high quality beer out of a tin can…
* Send the Head Brewer to a one week beer course in Mexico in 2015 - he’s promised to stay in backpacker accommodation and eat cheap-ass tacos while he’s there.

We appreciate all donations - no matter how big or small. As a thankyou for parting with your hard earned cash we have set up a number of different rewards. All donations will be recognised (unless you’d prefer to remain anonymous) with a huge thankyou on the Cerveza Zenith’s Facebook page. You will also be kept up to date with all improvements made as a result of your donation via Facebook.

Thankyou for helping us to share our passion, one beer at a time!!!
