Centre 454 has been working with some of the most vulnerable in the city of Ottawa for close to 65 years! We are a Day program in the heart of downtown Ottawa. We serve those living in poverty. We offer crisis counselling, we offer Ontario Disability support for those navigating the application process, we have an amazing Social Recreation program, we have an intensive Case Management program and we offer programming on the weekend - we are the only Day program in the city that is open 7 days a week.
This is where YOU come in! We are no longer able to fund our Saturday and Sunday programming. The average cost of a weekend is $1,500.00 - we have depleted our reserve fund, we have exhausted all other avenues for funding and now we are faced with the gut wrenching decision of possibly closing our doors on Saturday and Sunday...
We offer space for close to 250 visits a weekend. Many of the folks we serve are struggling with mental health, addiction and social isolation. Having Centre 454 open on the weekends provides them with a sense of belonging and purpose. We offer educational sessions, we offer outings in the community and we help those in crisis find healthy ways to cope and move forward.
Your generous donation will go a long way in ensuring we are able to continue welcoming people in to our space on Saturday and Sunday.
Our goal is to raise $80,000 to carry this program through 2018 - 2019. If we reach this goal it will give us the time we need to explore ways in which we can solidify sustainable funding
