Did you know that of the 8 ice rinks in Central Ohio, NONE ARE SOUTH OF I-70?
Did you know that the City of Pickerington has DONATED 8 acres of land for the construction of an ICE RINK?
Did you know that our team is tasked with raising $8 million for the construction of this facility, and that this facility will pose NO COST TO TAXPAYERS - EVER?
Did you know that our closest hockey neighbor, Pittsburgh, has over 50 ice rinks, managed by a variety of organizations?
Did you know that for the upcoming 2019-2020 youth hockey season, there are over 100 players WAITLISTED due to not having enough ice in Central Ohio to accommodate the demand?
Did you know that Central Ohio boasts the LARGEST ADULT HOCKEY LEAGUE IN THE COUNTRY, with over 180 teams?
Did you know that an ice rink would bring HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES to Pickerington EVERY DAY to spend money at our local businesses?
Did you know that EVERY QUARTER, HUNDREDS of prospective YOUTH HOCKEY players graduate from “Learn To Skate” and “Learn To Play” programs, with NO PLACE FOR THEM TO PLAY?
Did you know that Pickerington is a SPORTS TOWN, with world-class high school varsity football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, swimming, tennis, and lacrosse, but NO OHSAA-SANCTIONED HOCKEY?? Because of the lack of availability and easy proximity to ice, our high school isn’t able to offer this sport. Bringing ICE to PICKERINGTON will COMPLETE our high school sports offering, making our community a more desirable place to live!
