Help Center for Spiritual Wisdom Bridge the Gap!
We're starting to do great things at Center for Spiritual Wisdom — but we need your help to keep going. Our mission: teaching spiritual practices as tools of transformation for the common good.
We're moving from our start-up period to becoming an established non-profit organization. Just over the horizon are great things: offering more retreats and conferences, pioneering new practices and teachings, bringing in excellent guest speakers, and helping many more people go deeper in their spiritual lives.
Since our founding in April 2016, we've been changing lives from the inside out. So far, the Center has organized a 4-day Centering Prayer retreat, sponored community prayer services and forums before and after the 2016 General Election, and launched two monthly groups — an Enneagram group and a Contemplative Life group. As is often the case, we've had our share of speed bumps. We've been turned down for grants recently because we have not yet received 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt status from the federal government (we expect to receive it early in the New Year). We've found it challenging to get the word out to enough seekers about our excellent programs. Instead of organizing programs and teaching, I've been forced to spend extra time looking for funding.
We need your help to meet our goal of raising $25,000. If we can get there, we will bridge the gap between start-up status and becoming an established non-profit. Your gift will make it possible for me to continue as the full-time director of Center for Spiritual Wisdom. And here's the bottom line: your donations will help me and my family pay our mortgage and other bills, and not become mired in debt.
Our financial calculations indicate Center for Spiritual Wisdom can generate enough revenue by the end of 2017 to pay its own way. A successful response to this appeal will help us get there.
I am convinced the world needs spiritual wisdom — now more than ever. One day, I hope we will be able to launch a School for Spiritual Wisdom, combining group retreats with learning at a distance to transform individuals into people of deep wisdom and steadfast courage. Like you, we want to make the world a better place. And I am incredibly grateful to be doing this work. I'm so grateful because I see the difference we make by helping people become who they were born to be.
