Hires Family Help w/Final Expenses

Three children and their father were killed in a crash in Midland over the weekend.
The crash happened around 6:30am on Saturday.
According to DPS, the family was in a Chevy Impala headed westbound on State Highway 158 when a truck headed in the opposite direction hydroplaned, crossed into their lane and struck the family's vehicle. Sadly, Kantrell D. Hires, 36, and his three children, aged 17, 14, 12, were killed.
DPS says two of the children were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
We're told the family lived in the Gregory-Portland area.
Hires was part of the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Christus Sphon Hospital.
"He had a warmed presence, he also was a wonderful, gifted pastor," said Lynne Blacklear.
Family says, he was on his way to Midland to meet up with his wife. He had just gotten married in December.
Hires was also a Reserve Marine Science Technician with the Coast Guard.
He most recently served as the Lead Petty Officer at the Incident Management Division at Sector Corpus Christi.
Hires was selected as Sector Mobile's Reserve Person of the Year in 2014, and also nominated as Sector Corpus Christi's Reserve Enlisted Person of the Year in 2016.
On top of Hires' laundry list of great accomplishments, he was also a Resident Chaplain at Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi where he completed 600 hours of service, and also collected $5,000 of clothing and donations for local charities.
DPS says the road was slick because it was raining at the time of the crash.
