Celebrating Life of Ruth Semakula

Mama Ruth Semakula was born on October 14th 1935 in Usangi, Mwanga District Kilimanjaro Region. She attended Primary and High School in Usangi. She worked as an auxiliary nurse at Arusha Regional Hospital in Tanzania before she was married to her late husband Joseph Ignatus Semakula who passed away on April 1971, leaving her as a widow with Seven Children to raise.
Mama Ruth Semakula was in a good health until July of 2017 when she suffered from an acute severe stroke. She was initially treated at KCMC Hospital in Tanzania and Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi before being transported to the USA for further treatment. It so happened that as she was recovering from the stroke, she was diagnosed with a terminal untreatable Leukemia in December 2018 which ended her life on the morning of April 16th, 2019 at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis Minnesota. She is survived with seven (7) children; Charles, George, Marystella, Crispin, Diana, Tina, and Issack. She was also blessed with 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In order to honor her wishes the family is planning to take her to Moshi, Tanzania as her desired resting place. To that end, the Semakula family is asking for your financial support to cover the cost of funeral arrangements and other costs. The family wants to sincerely thank you for your generousity and support.
