Celebrate D's Life

Donation protected
David "D-boy" Andrade Jr was born on September 12, 1980 in Santa Barbara, California. On July 10, 2018 the Lord called our beloved "D" home to find peace and rest.  He is survived by his parents, David and Eva Andrade; his siblings, Maribel Andrade, Rosanna Andrade, Gabriel Melgar and Tracy Hernandez; and his nieces and nephews, Lexi, Lisa, Baby Manny, Ricky, Becky, Roman, Xavier, Layla and Logan.

A resident of Santa Barbara, he loved to cruise the streets and hang out with his family and friends. Frequently joking around and making all those around him laugh, we could count on him to make light of any situation. He was a huge fan of 80's and 90's movies, and would find just about any excuse to quote them in every day conversations. David had a huge, generous heart, and would make sure that he helped anybody at any time, regardless of their need. Our sweet David never failed to fill up his car trunk at Christmastime with gifts and toys to drop off at local organizations for families in need. He truly believed in preserving the innocence of children and allowing them to be kids as long as possible. We will miss his strength and guidance, always reassuring us that everything was going to be okay.

At this time, we as a family are facing many uncertainties and difficult days, but of one thing we are all undoubtedly sure: David would not want any of us to spend our time here on Earth feeling sorry for him. David lived his own life and he lived it his way, just like his favorite Frank Sinatra song, "My Way". Instead, he would want us to rejoice in the good times we've spent together and do our best to live out the rest of our lives as happy and as healthy as we can.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church  227 N. Nopal St. in Santa Barbara, and a mass will be held on Friday, July 20th at 10am at the same location.

The Andrade Family will be having a celebration of David's life following the mass at The Eagles Lodge from 12pm - 5pm, 923 Bath St in Santa Barbara.  We have been overwhelmed by the amount of love and support we have received over the past few days, and the familiar faces that have stopped by to offer their condolences. This would be a great opportunity for all of us to come together and share our favorite memories and stories of our amazing teddy bear. We would love to have you all join us in honoring David's life, and if it has been laid on your heart to offer a helping hand, we would be blessed by your contribution to his services.
