Cecilia's Medical and Recovery Fund

Kind, compassionate, and caring are just a few words to describe our friend Cecilia, wife to Branch, mother of four and a phenomenal public school teacher of 28 years.  Having battled breast cancer in 2013, she had no idea that another fight was coming. In February 2017 she learned she carried the CDH1 genetic mutation, placing her at significant risk for developing diffuse gastric cancer and breast cancer.

The protocol for CDH1 diagnosis is total gastric removal (taking out her stomach). This major open surgery requires a long hospital stay and a difficult road to recovery.  Her surgery is scheduled on April 15 at Sloan Kettering in NYC with a team of CDH1 experts.

I cannot even imagine the expenses that will accumulate and continue to accumulate over the next year of her recovery: out of state surgery, 7-10 day hotel stay in NYC for post-surgery observation, loss of income, co-pays, deductibles, and on and on. We set up this page for anyone who can help make a donation during this difficult time.

Pray for doctors as they oversee the treatment for her, for her family, and most of all, please pray for strength and healing of our girl Cecilia.  She has always been there to help other people in their time of need.  Now it is our turn to help her.
