CCC Save Our Windows Campaign

Countryside Community Church is a small local church (circa early 1800's) that is focused on serving our community.  We have begun a capital campaign to raise funds that will make our beautiful antique 11’-tall stained glass windows safer, weather-durable, and more energy-efficient.  They are an important  part of the history to our community and contribute to the preservation of our unique New Hampshire cultural heritage.  The congregation has already raised $12,000, but we need your help to finish before the chill of New England winter (and snow and ice, etc.) creeps in and do their seasonal damage.


You can see how the windows splash beautiful, spiritual sunlight into our sanctuary, and how that brings happiness to all who see them!  Our windows were installed in the mid-1800s when such craftsmanship and artistry was common and available.  They were refurbished in the 1990s, but time and weather have made it necessary for another restoration.  
Many local folks appreciate our windows and the enjoyment and inspiration that they bring to the community.

And for those who are curious, here is some history ...

Countryside Church was founded in 1823, in Contocook, NH.  Congregants arrived by buggy, on horseback, or on foot!   At that time the windows were plain glass.

Until the 1960s there was a gorgeous pipe organ to serenade everyone on Sundays.

We have a modest but attractive New England-style building.  Sometime in the late 19th or early 20th centuries, the stained glass windows were installed.  They really enhanced the dignity of our church on Main Street.  The whole community benefits from the inspiration and historic presence of our (everyone's) windows.

A large annex (the "education" building) was added in the 1970s to house classrooms, a new kitchen, and office space.
