In the Boonville area, many residents either have difficulty obtaining access to reliable internet or computers.
The CCBC, a local non-profit, operates the Education and Employment Resource Center in their Community Center on Rural Street. The resource center will be the first truly free, unlimited source for computer and internet use for citizens of the Boonville area.
The need to open and modernize the resource center is crucial, from an economical standpoint. Many businesses are switching to electronic applications, which leaves out the population who either have unreliable or no access to a computer or internet. The resource center would grant them access to the tools needed to make them successful in today's digital world.
In addition to providing the hardware and software, the CCBC is planning on hosting classes in the future to teach computer novices the basics of how to use a computer, Microsoft Windows, and many common programs, such as Microsoft Office.
The money donated through this GoFundMe, in addition to the money fundraised at the Spaghetti Dinner, will go towards replacing the three outdated computer systems with new, up-to-date computer systems that will provide for years of reliablity and compatibility.
I'm hosting this GoFundMe page, as well as the spaghetti dinner and bake sale, to fundraise the funds needed to replace the three outdated computers. I started with the CCBC in April 2015 as their webmaster, and I grew more and more involved with the organization and the resource center. I witnessed the resource center grow from an empty room to what it is today. By the time I graduate in May 2017, I'd like to see the resource center ready for citizens to utilize it to better their futures and be successful.
