Help Fund Culture Club 101!

On July 2nd, 2014, after several years of operations, Culture Club 101 was forced to close its doors due to a reinterpretation of private club licensing in Pasadena.

We are now very excited to announce that in Spring 2016, if all goes as planned, CC101 will reopen at its new Pasadena location, once again selling delicious, traditionally-prepared and fermented foods to its members and the public.

What is Culture Club 101?
Based in Pasadena, California, Culture Club 101, in its first iteration, was a licensed private culinary club that provided its members with a source for real nutrient-dense foods.  The club held educational classes on fermentation, traditionally-prepared foods and gluten-free baking.  CC101 Members had access to a learning library focused on food and health, special events, speakers and films.  The Club vetted other resources such as pasture-raised meats, raw dairy products, fermentation cultures and supplies and other hard-to-find specialty items.  At CC101, members could purchase delicious real foods, made in-house and supplied from local cottage producers, farms and businesses.  For 6 years CC101 has fostered and mentored a number of local real food entrepreneurs, and their businesses are still thriving in our community today.  CC101 prides itself on sourcing only the highest quality GMO-free, sustainably-produced and organically-grown real food for our customers.  The NEW Culture Club 101 will bring the same traditions to its new Pasadena location.

What Can I Do?
To continue operations, The Club needed to move its location and re-establish itself as a retail location with a commercial kitchen.  Between July 2014 and the present, Elaina Luther, owner and founder of Culture Club 101, has been tirelessly advocating and planning for the reopening of CC101.  In the spring of 2015 a new location at Washington and Hill was found and the lease was signed.  Construction to create a bigger and better retail space, adding a Kombucha and Broth Bar and the "What About the Birds" Café  is already underway!  And we need your help!  To insure its future sustainability, CC101 has established this fundraising campaign.  As of January 12th, over 50% of our GoFundMe goal of $50,000 has been raised already!  CC101 has also launched a Shopping Card Offer (“Save When You Buy Real Food!”) to all its members, with substantial savings and special benefits to all who purchase the CC101 Shopping Card before February 1st, 2016.  Click here to learn more: http://www.cultureclub101.com/prepaid/

Why Should I Donate to Culture Club 101?
From its beginning, CC101 was much more than just a small private culinary club in Pasadena.  It is an important grassroots model creating change in our food system from the ground up.  It teaches its members what is possible using real nutrient-dense foods.  CC101 is committed to teaching and spreading the word in support of sustainable farming and living and to be a resource for finding reliable sources for real food.

CC101 is one of many real food pioneers around the country having a positive impact on market demand and our commercial food system.  That impact is already being felt as an increased demand for Non-GMO and organic foods in the U.S.  The goal of CC101 is to continue to be a valuable resource and educational learning center for the real food community regarding healthy vibrant living.

Your donation will not only help save our food system, it will nourish our community, support growing families and help sustain a valuable resource for you, your family and your health for years to come.  Our request is urgent.
