CATO: Arianna's Graduate Film

Hi, my name is Arianna Tipper and this is a crowdfunding page for my final year graduate project. I'm studying BA Television Production at Bournemouth University, currently producing my final film, a 10 minute drama called CATO.
It’s the 21st century when technology surrounds us, is a part of everyday life and we’re quickly becoming increasingly reliant on it. But what do we do when technology overtakes us, pre-empting our every move… and eavesdropping?
CATO is a short drama about Andrew, a young tech-obsessed man, who has just bought himself the latest new device. CATO (the Creative Assistant for Technological Operations) is a handy, personal voice assistant, similar to “Alexa”, in Amazon's recently launched Echo. It's great for helping with day to day activities: ordering shopping, setting reminders and listening to music, but one day things start to go awry. CATO starts hearing things it wasn't meant to hear, acts upon things it wasn't meant to know and Andrew starts to wonder if CATO is becoming self aware?
With your help and generosity, the production of this film will take place at the beginning of March 2017. I would be extremely appreciative of any donation, no matter how small, as I'm sure you know, filmmaking isn’t cheap!
The money donated will be used in a variety of ways to contribute to the production including: paying for transportation and food for the cast and crew, location costs, props and music licensing fees. Anything over the initial goal would be amazing and would enable me to improve the quality of the production.
CATO will be available for online viewing in April 2017 and donations of £20 and above will receive a named thanks in the credits.
