Help send FRC Team 5957 the CAT 5 Cybercanes to the FIRST Chesapeake District Championship!
CAT 5 Cybercanes 5957 is a FIRST Robotics team located in Newport News, VA. The CAT 5 Cybercanes has accepted the invitation to compete at the 2018 FIRST Chesapeake District Championship, March 28-31 at the Xfinity Center College Park, Maryland. Our team qualified to compete in this event after cumulating 60 points through their overall performance in two district events:
- District Event Finalist and Team Spirit Award at the CHS District Central Virginia Event in Glen Allen, VA.
- Quarter-finalist and Team Spirit Award at the CHS District Hampton Roads Event in Portsmouth, VA.
At the District Championship, CAT5 Cybercanes will compete against 59 other high school teams and seeks to be among the 25 VA/MD/DC teams that will advance from the Xfinity Center to the FIRST World Championship in Detroit.
Your generous donation will be used to offset partially the travel expenses for our team attending the District Championship. Because of your support, the CAT 5 Cybercanes is better able to make lasting positive impacts in the lives of our students.
The FIRST Robotics Competition is a mentor-based program that inspires the next generation of engineers and technologists. Over 90,000 students on 3,650 teams are challenged to design, build, and program robots to play a difficult field game. When these students experience science and math as a thrilling, challenging competition, they build not only confidence in STEM, but also work-life skills such as leadership, communication, and self-motivation.
