A few weeks ago my sister in law, Cassaundra Booth was having abdominal pain and unable to keep much food down. The symptoms got worse and eventually she had an ultrasound that revealed a mass on her intestine. They performed surgery to remove the mass (grapefruit size) but unfortunately, they discovered 100's of tumors all over during the procedure. The tumors have since been diagnosed as the most advanced stage of melanoma and is very aggressive.
Medically, this is not a reassuring diagnosis but we have faith in a God that isn't limited by medical capabilities. We're praying that God will intercede with a miracle and heal her. Pray that she'll gain strength enough to start treatment next week. Please, also keep her husband Adam in your prayers! They're very overwhelmed by everything right now so please, don't reach out to them directly or be offended if they don't respond to you. Please, know we truly appreciate ANY monetary donation you can make on their behalf, as all of those will be used for the many medications and her treatments. We will keep this page up-to-date along her journey. For anyone who would like to send a word of encouragement their address is:

Many local family members gathered at Mom and Dad's house after church last Sunday to celebrate Cassaundra's would be 34th (the 12th) birthday. There was a lot of needed laughter, good ole' live George music, watching of home movies, looking through old pictures, baby cuddling, cousin chaos and several rounds of The Family Feud boardgame. It was therapeutic and spent just the way we love.... Cassie would've loved it too. I'm so thankful for the amazing family I married into. Since the death of my sister in law it was nice to experience a bit of joy again with people I love. Thank you, for your support and continued prayers to our family during this time.

From my mother in law, Cassaundra's mother, Kathleen George:
In the two weeks since Cassaundra went to be with the Lord, our family has been humbled and blessed by the outpouring of love and support given to each of us. There were close to 300 persons at her service, I wish I could have greeted each of you and please, accept my apology if I didn't see you. We are especially blessed by those who braved the stormy weather and traveled 3 - 4 hours to be with us. Her influence had a greater reach than even she comprehended.
I also want to thank each of you who donated to VHF in her name, who gave to her gofundme account, and who gave the beautiful flowers for her service. Adam is doing a great job wrapping up loose ends. Please pray for him as he makes his way through this and adjusts to life without his partner. We take comfort in these words of our Lord:
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." John. 5:24
