Cassandra's Ceramic Dragons

Donation protected
Hello!

My name is Cassandra and I am a college student at the Art Institute of California.  Sculpting is one of my passions along with- you guessed it- dragons! This GoFundMe would help me set up an Etsy shop where I could sell all of the ceramic dragons I create.

Here is a video of me sculpting one of my dragons:

* My Background *

I began sculpting in my high school ceramics class where I created my first dragon. It turned out surprisingly good, good enough that everyone began requesting that I make one for them. I sculpted as many dragons as I could in a year before I graduated, which ended up being 9 small dragons that I gifted to my friends and family. Since I graduated from high school, I haven't been able to make any, but would love to continue making dragons for myself and others. Unfortunately, I do not have the materials or funds to make them anymore. The only money that I make from my current job goes straight to my bills and college tuition. Any donations made in order to get me sculpting dragons again are much appreciated!

* Materials Needed *

I would need a kiln, clay, glaze, and a few miscellaneous tools. The kiln I need is an Evenheat RM II 1822 Cone 8 Electric Kiln, which is about $1,400 dollars with tax and shipping. The clay I would need is the Amaco brand Warm Brown Stoneware Clay No.58, which is about $90 with tax for 100 pounds of clay. The glaze I need is Amaco brand Potter's Choice Class Pack No. 2, No.3, and No.4, and all of the glaze sets together would cost roughly $220 with tax and shipping.  The rest of the money would go toward a few other things I would need such as certain carving tools, brushes, and a wheel, which are all fairly inexpensive.

(The materials I need are the same ones I used in high school to make the dragons you see pictured above)

It would mean the world to me to be able to sculpt my dragons again, and I know lots of others would enjoy them too. Plus, having my own materials would allow me the freedom to get creative with my designs. I plan on sculpting at least five dragons a month, but hopefully more if I have the time in between work and school. Each dragon will be handmade and completely unique. I may even create multiples series of dragons depending on what I feel like making at the time.

*All of the funds will be used to create and sell dragon sculptures*

Thank you so much to anyone who donates, every dollar is appreciated!
