Banish Cashs Big Bad Bladdar Stones

Donation protected
Our story : A little over 4 weeks ago, on a Saturday evening I discovered a few droplets of liquid with a tinge of red on our bedspread. A quick glance around lead me to one of our 8 rescue cats, Cash. She was leaking urine from her "lady parts"...and yes that liquid contained blood. We no longer have funds set aside for these unplanned vet trips so I needed to evaluate the situation immediately and figure out my plan of action.

I tried to make her comfortable, brought her fresh water and a clean litter pan....she is at least 11 years old(showed up on Christmas eve about 10 years ago) and gets a little inflammation in her hips so I wanted to make sure she didn't have to go so far for a litter pan. Within about an hour she must have been in and out of the litter pans 30 times. At one point she was so tired that her little legs were shaking and she ended up collapsing and laying in the pan. I made the decision then that we had to make a trip to the emergency vet, immediately.

After 3 hours of waiting (lots of emergencies that evening) and $291 later I found out she had a "raging UTI". She was prescribed anti biotics and an anti inflammatory. We were then told to follow up with our vet in 2 weeks to see if anti biotics had to be continued.

A follow up confirmed that she still had an infection. Our vet also felt she needed an xray to rule out a couple of things. On her xray you can see 2 large masses in her bladdar. Dr Bill told us it could be a couple of things so not to worry just yet. We decided to have a culture done but would have to wait 3 days to ensure the anti biotics were out of her system...and since she'd already be there, they'd take another xray to see if the blobs were maybe fat or something.

The culture grew nothing...but the "blobs" we seen are definitely bladdar stones. Those stones need to be removed.

I was told we could try to manage with prescription food, hanging her water to distilled and avoiding certain foods. At the time I was ok with it. Within 48 hours of Cash being on the anti biotics and pain meds she seemed like a kitten again. She was rolling all over the place playing. She was even able to jump right up on the bed! Normally she jumps and then has to claw herself up a bit or will just sit there and stare at me until I pick her up. Even a week after the pain meds were done I felt she was doing well. But now, for the past week, I can see that she is in fact hurting again.

This absolutely beaks my heart that I am unable to provide the necessary care Cash needs. To me, this makes me a bad parent. These guys are more then just our pets..they are our children. They are my world, my reason to live. They make me want to get out of bed...well they don't really give me a choice if they are hungry!! Lol. Seriously though, up until a few years ago, I didn't know how much of a bond could be created between a person and an animal. I was so fortunate to find just how strong that bond could be. Somewhere along the line I went from not really caring about cats, to a full blown crazy cat lady.

With that being said, I absolutely cannot continue to let Cash suffer. Its not fair to her. Its not her fault that we cannot afford anything else. That means I either find the means to pay for the surgery and aftercare or we rehome with someone who can really take care of her.

My reasoning for this gofundme :
We recently lost a care credit account with a $5,000 limit. This was a huge blow to us as that was our ONLY means of providing our rescues vet care. I know how terribly irresponsible that sounds. I am ashamed to even admit it. Thankfully I did qualify for a new carecredit but it was only a $500 balance. That was completely wiped out in 2 visits.

We are looking at $1700 for the surgery and about $40 a month for her recommended diet. To us that is an insane amount of money. My husband and I are both disabled but he's forced to work and I what I can here and there, or we'd be homeless..I know its more then so many get but we're lucky to see $1200/month. I have been blessed to know how to coupon and be able to pet shop for a few people each month. Doing this allows me to provide dry food, wet food, treats, advantage when needed and enough tidy cats scoopable litter for 8 boxes, for between $5 and $10 a month! While the care credit was helpful, opening the account added another monthly payment of $25.

Spent so far:
Cash's to date vet bills :
$291
$127
$210
$30 in prescription food

What we need:
$1700 for surgery

What we hope for:
$2500 for surgery, cover costs on credit cards to open up some funds for future vet visits and maybe a couple bags of prescription food.

I know times are tough for everyone, esp with all the disasters lately, but I am hoping that if enough people help that we can get this girl up and feeling better. If not, my only other option is to rehome her. To me that's not really an option though. She's my kisser cash...I don't know what I would do without her cute little half of a moustache having silly butt. Cash is the sweetest and most well behaving cat I've ever met. She doesn't make messes or walk on counters and other random surfaces. Heck she doesn't even meow!!! She will open her mouth but nothing comes out. And when she bats at something, she bends her paw and always misses...its one of the cutest things ever.

Thank you to all in advance for even taking the time to read this.

Please if you are able to help, support us with a donation. If you are not able to meet gofundme's minuim donation amount, feel free to send it via PayPal. There's no limits. If you want to send $1, you can. EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR COUNTS!

If you are unable to support our campaign financially:  Sharing this with your family and friends is just as good. Even better...saying a prayer or two for this sweet little girl.

Also if someone would prefer to provide us with the food Cash has to eat, that would be just as well!

We would also be open to other donations such as gift cards. If we'd be given a $50 gift card for groceries, I could take $50 from our grocery money and add it to the funds for surgery.

I will update as I find more out but as of now we are at a bit of a stand still until the money is raised.
