Help Me Get to IBC & CBWS NYC

As many of you know, for the last 7 months I've been on a journey to become a certified professional babywearing consultant. Part of that journey has propelled me to attend the International Babywearing Conference in Atlanta this July and to NYC in September to attend the Center for Babywearing Studies' Foundations course. However, in the process of saving up to go, a life altering event happened within my family and funds were diverted elsewhere.
While I've tried to be at peace with not going, after giving it much thought and debate, I realized that passing up such an opportunity to help propel my future business would be impractical. I would be losing the opportunity to network, to meet business owners in person, and to sit in on lectures that would be beneficial to becoming a successful educator and businesswoman. My ultimate goal is to provide caregivers with the most updated information on safety and information, to work with Kangaroo Care in hospitals, to donate time to women's & children's shelters, (& so much more!) and to overall always continue learning so that I may become a better educator everyday. By going to IBC & the Foundations course, I can continue on this journey and take a big step in furthering my current knowledge.
It's hard and to ask others for help. I've always been very independent and bent on getting places under my own steam, to earn my way to wherever it was that I wanted to go. I've always worked hard for what I have and reaching out to people that know me and know how I am is exceptionally hard; but asking for help does not make me less, in fact it makes me better at my core because it humbles me immensely because I've realized that my pride won't keep me from seeking help when I really need it.
Many of you may decide to not donate and that's fine! I am so thankful to have each of you in my life and that will never change. To those who would like to help, I am very grateful for your donation! Even if I don't reach my ultimate goal, I'll still be closer than I am right now.
