Carrie's Breast Cancer Fight

Donation protected
It's always hard for all parties involved when a loved one is diagnosed with Cancer. It seems like a bad dream. But we find the strength that the diagnosed has to stand up and face the upcoming challenges inspiring, my mother is no different.  This is her story. The story of a mother, a beloved Mimi and a dear friend to many.

A few months ago Carrie finally went to the doctor after having noticed a lump in her breast that was out of the ordinary. The doctors preformed tests and a biopsy to determine whether it was cancerous.  On December 6th it was announced that the tests had come back positive. Breast cancer.
It was decided to go ahead with a lumpectomy to remove the mass along with several surrounding lymph nodes. Minimal treatment was expected, a chemo pill versuses the full on chemotherapy. A somewhat easier case. Before the lumpectomy the MRI  found another lump, luckily this was benign. All things were go for the scheduled lupectomy.
During the pre surgery test Carrie fell unconscious having a seizure and losing all vitals. The doctors were able to get her back. The surgery went on as scheduled removing the large mass from the breast as well as three lymph nodes for further testing.
Recovery went well and we all held onto hope that the lymph nodes would come back negative.  Unfortunately that was not the case. All lymph nodes came back positive. Not only did they contain cancer but the cancer had spread to the outside walls of those three. What once seemed like a somewhat easy situation(although Cancer never really is) was now turning out to get even tougher.
The next surgery is scheduled for January 31st.They will be going in to remove up to thirty lymph nodes and proceed with further testing to determine the extent to which the cancer has spread. Treatments will be starting in mid February. She is looking at approximately eight weeks with five days of radiation and one day of chemo each week (although this is possible to increase after next surgery results).
With the surgeries and treatment Carrie will be able to work hardly at all if any. Her husband Jason who is currently out of work has been taking over her bartending job just to make ends meet. Even so there will be days when he will not be able to do so because he will have to stay home to help take care of her.
Their financial situation is getting tighter by the day. Even with the help from government programs and local ministries debt from medical bills is building. Rent is getting harder to pay and stress is the last thing she needs during such a tough time.  She would never ask for such help especially when it comes to money, it's not who she is, so this is why on the behalf of my mother I am reaching out and asking for any contributions to help ease their struggle. All money raised will go to helping pay medical bills, medical debt and any missed work.
We appreciate any donations and please help us spread her message. Thank you for hearing her story.

Sincerly her daughter, Delaney
