Help Our Rescues New & Old

Donation protected
My name is Carol and for the past 21 years we have singlehandedly cared for, and saved the lives of more than 65 community (feral) cats (as of 2019 it's 136 animals) but I tamed and adopted kittens out and some died) in the community of Lake Wylie, SC (and several dogs). When this initial colony was discovered on and around our new property we looked for help but only got offers from men who offered to come shoot them. We looked at this sweet group of young cat families who were starving, and we knew that was an unacceptable response. We took matters into our own hands, and each cat was trapped, tested, neutered/spayed, given medical attention, cared for and socialized. The trapping and testing and neutering and spaying alone took 5 years.  We proudly found homes for 20 of the youngest of them whom we could tame the fastest. OUR DOG, MATT DILLON, a rescue, along with 5 other puppies we found homes for 8 years ago, has had many problems...allergies, fleas, food, and now a growth on his neck we've drained 2+ times.  Now it's time for surgery.

When we had to change vets, every single cat had to get physicals (whether they had just had one or not). Many were on at least two medications so all happened fast so that we could continue to see they got them.  It truly is like running a geriatric hospital alone, keeping everyone separated which means separate everything (water, litter boxes, food) so we know who is sick (from vomit, diarrhea, etc.).  Lately it's been like being a hospice.

Recently we had to send more geriatrics to the tenth life.  Our personal resources are more than drained, but we could never abandon these loving cats. Our efforts continue as we also raise awareness in the community on responsible pet ownership, spay/neuter programs and TNR (Trap Neuter Release) initiatives to prevent these situations from happening again not only to the cats but to people like us who have given up so much and given out so much for so many years.  Currently one cat, who has seen the vet at least twice in 3 months, is projectile vomiting, probably because of the dance we do with blood tests every four weeks to get the thyroid effective.  But I cannot do this cat and Matt Dillon too after losing 6 animals and all the expenses prior and after in the last 4 months.  Please help us.

How you can really help us and please do:

1. Consider a donation to this GoFundMe campaign. No matter how big or small - every single penny is used towards medical care, litter and food for these babies.  Money from Gofundme is applied to prescriptions, RX cat food, daily food, veterinarian visits or our Care Card when we haven't had the money which unfortunately is often lately. Two places we go do NOT take the CARE CARD so it’s out of pocket mainly.

2. We do accept donations of and for food and litter (money, gift cards for Chewy)
No gift is too small

Please share to keep our campaign active because many hands giving a little would make a huge difference for us now.  Thank you to all of you who have supported us!
