Carolina in Korea #KPOPLife

Hello! I'm Carolina and I have a chance to visit Korea...

I fell in love with KPOP at a KBBQ in Koreatown, LA, California.

As we cooked bulgogi and cheese corn, videos with bright colors and bubbly people played. At first, it was just part of the atmosphere, but then the more I watched, the less I wanted to stop.
After eating and coming home, one melody kept playong in my mind. I searched online, and was able to find it ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNLF7ysoc6w)! Thank God for the internet. The more I watched from the band, GOT7 <3, the more I loved this culture. I started to watch Korean dramas. I dedicated 16 hours per show, thanks Viki! ( www.viki.com) I started to learn a little bit of Korean, and one link led to another and I somehow landed on SnackFever( www.snackfever.com). They are a subscription box company who send Korean Snacks monthly! I followed them on all social media, met them at KCONLA16, and saw their #LetsUnbox with Afreecatv( www.afreecatv.com) challenge. I placed an order for a box, and creativity struck. ( http://afreeca.tv/36877956/v/50366)
After about 2-3 weeks of anticipation, the winners were announced on their weekly live Mukbang broadcast, here ( www.afreecatv.com/snackfever), and I cried tears of joy, shouted at the top of my lungs, and danced! My hard work had been recognized, and a dream of mine was starting to come true.

The only thing about dreams is that, well, there's gotta be a wake up call.

I only won a free FLIGHT...
Don't get me wrong, I am grateful to God and that is more than enough for me, but again, reality.

My parents would NEVER let me go alone, and I don't want to, so I must get another flight for my sister, who was dragged into laughing and crying at Kdramas with me and now laughs and cries herself. It's become a sister activity where we anticipate new episodes weekly, but have to wait for English subtitles, so we freak out for like 2 days.

THEN, we have to have a place to rest our heads... and somewhere deccent.

ALSO, we have to eat and enjoy what Seoul has to offer...

We are aiming for October, and based on my work and calculations are hoping to go from the 1-15.

It looks like:

-Between $1,000-1,500 plane ticket for a decent airline

-Somewhere around $100-200 a night at reputable hotels that have average necessities

-And some change for some unique meals made by ajummas, events, tourist sites, and shopping...

I grew up in a small border city of Texas and I probably would have not been able to save up enough to travel on my own. This giveaway is a push to experience so much. This is my once in a lifetime getaway. I have never been outside of the country other than two sister cities on the border of TX, and it was only a five minute drive away.

Please help my dream come true in any way. I am grateful for any amount you give. It means so much that you are my friend and that you have taken the time to help a sista out!

***UPDATE***

I want to let you know that I did not make this account with the intention of a fully paid trip. I never expected that. I am working hard to pay my way. Since the flight was a giveaway, the prize will not extend to 2018. I MUST go in 2017. If I had time, I would be able to have sufficient unds, but I don't have as much time as I would like. In a time where there is social media and ability to create a GoFundMe, I took advantage of that.
I will work harder in the next few months than you can imagine, I just hope to have your support....

I love you!! Sarang hae!

Kansahamnida! Thank you!
