Hello I’m Yyare and this is our situation:
On February 2018 my mom Carmen Pichardo was going to travel from Venezuela to the USA to visit me but unfortunately, a few weeks before she was supposed to travel she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (she had relapsed).
Currently, due to the critical situation in Venezuela, you cannot find either medicines or treatment there, so she came here, not as a tourist but as a patient, trying to get help to treat her cancer. Two days after arriving here she was taken to the ER where Doctors decided to have her hospitalized.
She needed several blood transfusions, and we knocked on many doors until she was finally referred to oncology specialists, but she doesn’t have any insurance or Medicaid.
Medicine and treatment started around a month after her 1st transfusion was done (Saturday, March 10th). About 3 months later the first bill came, and they haven’t stopped coming.
*Bills due in September 2018 add up to $71,869.00 and it is estimated that the cost of treatment up to March 2019 will increase this amount to $82,497.00* The cost of bone marrow transplant hasn’t been estimated yet.
We decided to create this Gofundme account to help us pay all these bills so any donation will be immensely appreciated. She is hopeful and full of positive energy to fight this through, and spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Soy de Venezuela y actualmente vivo en el estado de Wisconsin, EE. UU. desde 2017.
En enero de 2018 mi madre Carmen Pichardo planeaba viajar de Venezuela a EE. UU. para visitarme, pero lamentablemente unas semanas antes de viajar le diagnosticaron mieloma múltiple (recaída). Se realizaron algunas pruebas: biopsia, tomografía computarizada y análisis de sangre mostraron que sus proteínas, microglobulinas, glóbulos blancos, glóbulos rojos, plaquetas, hemoglobina, entre otros, estaban por debajo del umbral, en general su estado de salud era extremadamente delicado.
Actualmente no hay posibilidad de encontrar medicamentos ni tratamiento en su país de origen, así que vino aquí no como turista sino como paciente buscando ayuda para tratar su cáncer; dos días después de llegar fue vista en la sala de emergencias donde los médicos decidieron hospitalizarla.
Se necesitaron varias transfusiones (sangre y plaquetas), se buscaron muchas opciones hasta que finalmente fue referida a un hospital oncológico, aún cuando ella no tiene ningún seguro de salud ni Medicaid.
Los medicamentos y el tratamiento (quimioterapia oral e inyectable) comenzaron aproximadamente un mes después de que se realizó su primera transfusión; unos 3 meses más tarde llegó la primera factura y aún siguen llegando otras. Para septiembre de 2018 el monto de las facturas asciende a US $ 71869 y el monto estimado a marzo de 2019 es de US $ 82497.
Las donaciones se destinarán a pagar la quimioterapia diaria y semanal, varias pruebas de laboratorio, tomografías computarizadas, Bx y aspiración de médula ósea, biopsias, servicios de patología, así como las consultas médicas con los especialistas.
El costo del transplante de médula ósea aún no ha sido estimado.
Decidimos crear este Gofundme para ayudarnos a pagar todas estas facturas y cualquier donación será muy apreciada. Mi mamá esta llena d de esperanza y energía positiva para luchar contra esto y pasar tiempo con su familia especialmente con sus nietos.
