Hello Everyone:
We lost a much beloved member of our family on Saturday September 22nd (this is the official date from the Medical Examiner and changed from our earlier posting of the 20th) . Carla died in her sleep after a full and giving life. She is survived by her two sisters, Eva Alexander and Lisa St. Martin.
Carla Anne Stemmer RN BSN was a proud graduate of Niagara University always putting the care and rights of the patient first. She loved the energy of Emergency Medicine and the opportunity to exercise her considerable skills and abilities to help people.
Carla practiced her faith and looked forward every week to singing in the choir at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Always full of spirit, Carla had a smile and outlook that lifted hearts.
The Sterling Playmakers were also one of Carla's passions. Both performing and assisting backstage gave Carla another outlet for her creativity and humor.
The announcement on FB last weekend has generated hundreds of responses from folks asking how they can help with Carla's expenses.
This GoFundMe effort will be used to take care of Carla's final arrangements including her Rite of Committal. Any funds raised in excess of need will be shared between two organizations she loved - Our Lady of Hope (Potomac Falls, VA) and the Sterling Playmakers.
Please give what you can now as expenses are beginning to mount with the Funeral Mass scheduled for October 13th at Our Lady Of Hope.
The Alexanders and St. Martins will be in charge of all funds with a commitment to make sure that 100% of the funds will go toward Carla's expenses and the organizations mentioned above.
