Caring for Cade

On the night of June 13th, Candace and Chris were delivered the news that no parent ever wants to hear. They were told that their precious 2 year old who had been experiencing vomiting episodes for the previous 1-2 weeks was being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Cade was admitted to the PICU at Lutheran General Hospital that night. After an extensive MRI, it was found that Cade’s tumor had not spread and that there was only one tumor that needed to be removed which is very positive news. The type of tumor that Cade has is unknown at this time and it will be 5 days or so after it’s removed before they find out the extent of it. This diagnosis is devastating, but Cade, Chris, Candace and big brother Rylan have all been incredibly strong and brave. With this diagnosis comes a burden of financial expenses. Unfortunately, while their world has stopped, the world around them keeps moving.
