Care to Dare Bike for MDA
Hey! My name is Chris Biehn, and I am a junior at Ithaca College.
Several years ago my mom was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a disease that weakens the musculoskeletal system and has no known cure.
At Shawnee High School I started this charity organization called Biehn Team to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Through fundraisers including wristband sales (see picture below), a previous Care to Dare bike ride (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7UfLmMJz8M), and growing out my beard for half a year (https://www.gofundme.com/yeard4mda), we raised over $3,750 that has all been donated to MDA. I am extremely passionate about this cause.
I am doing my second Care to Dare bike ride event on August 6, 2016. The journey will be 45 miles from Long Beach Island. NJ to Medford Lakes, NJ. I will be riding on a beach cruiser. Here's how it works: anyone can dare me anything! Last time I did this fundraiser I received dares as basic as wear board shorts during the ride and as ridiculous as put a pink thong on my helmet. If you have an idea for a dare, email me ([email redacted]) or tweet me (@chrisbiehn). If I accept, make a donation to this fundraising page and I will do that dare on my ride. Ex: If you dare me $25 to wear winter boots on my ride and I email/tweet you back confirming I will, then make a $25 donation to this page and leave a comment with your dare. I will accept ALL dares within reason! You can also feel free to make a donation without daring me. If you would like to sponsor my bike ride and give a $200+ donation, please also send me an email and I will advertise your company on this page, on social media, and during my ride. Important note: all donations are tax deductible! You just need me to give you a receipt from MDA after you donate.
My mom is my inspiration and my message is I care an incredible amount about her and MDA. I'm willing to make a fool out of myself and go above and beyond to raise money for this charity.
