Care for Kali Merickle

Donation protected
On Monday, January 8th, 16-year-old Kali Merickle was a passenger in a horrific car accident on 114th street in Lubbock. Because of the severity of the collision the Lubbock Fire Department needed the Jaws of Life to remove her from the car. Kali was quickly transported to University Medical Center via ambulance. It was discovered there she sustained a fractured pelvis, fractured and dislocated hip, a severely broken femur, her knee was lacerated halfway through, and she has several cracked teeth. Emergency surgery was immediately performed when she arrived to put her hip back in place, a titanium rod was placed in her femur and the wounded knee was cleaned. Kali was placed in a room in ICU until she was stable enough for her next surgery. The next morning Kali had surgery to repair her hip and pelvis and was moved to the pediatric unit that evening. We are praying she will be released to return home on Friday after her release date was pushed back due to low oxygen.
We have started this GoFundMe in hopes of raising money to pay for the extensive medical bills that insurance will not cover. There will be considerable PT and rehab bills to help her walk again. Kali's mom, Baylee, is and will continue to miss work in order to care for Kali. Thank you for your help for Kali and her family.
