Dear friends, Ken went Home into the arms of Jesus last night. I can’t express the pain in my heart that I have to be without my beloved of 46 yrs. Please pray for me, that the Lord will stay close in these coming days. He was not healed this side of Heaven, but he’s healed now and experiencing Joys that he’s never known before! For that I am grateful. I am also grateful for the fact that we’ll be reunited one day. This is not the end. Thank you all for praying for us all this time. Your prayers were heard, the Lord’s Will was done, and He does all things well! ✝️
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
This verse encourages and sustains our friends, Deb and Ken Cooke, who are going through a challenging time right now, and we have the opportunity to be the hands of Jesus in coming along side these good people.
THEIR STORY:
Deb shared these words concerning Ken’s diagnosis: “We went to his oncologist yesterday and the news wasn’t great, but there’s always Hope! Ken has a pretty serious cancer that is mostly in his right lung, some in his left and unfortunately has traveled to the brain. This makes the cancer stage 4.” Since that time Ken has suffered several strokes, spent days in the ICU unit and Stroke unit, a brief stay at rehab, but then faced surgery for fluid on his lungs and was again hospitalized. Ken’s course of treatments was to be radiation and chemotherapy, but that was placed on hold due to Ken''s weakened physical condition. ***please see the UPDATES for additional reports.“Of course we’re hoping for healing or remission and length of life, but we’re leaving that up to prayer and God’s Will. We know He loves Ken and only means good towards him, so we can trust Him!”
THEIR NEED:
Because of his health, Ken cannot work, which will bring a financial strain to the Cookes. Deb has also taken a family leave, increasing the need. The goal of this fundraiser is to help Deb and Ken with expenses during this crucial time.
